Its last private resident was the late Giovanna Salvadore Govani, known as Jean Salvadore, a legendary " grande dame" figure who wrote books about the hotel including Villa D'Este Style. Built as a greenhouse, the structure was transformed into a private house for the hotel's managers around the end of the 19th century. The real villa gem, though, is Mosaic House. Overlooking the lake, it includes six bedrooms with marble bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen, private gym (you know, since the bodyguards need to stay spry), and private garden perfect for parties. The 7,535-square-foot Villa Garrovo was built in 1833 near the Cardinal Building.
